Tasmania is the last habitat for the Tasmanian Devil. Renowned for a fierce growl and blood curdling screams at night, during the day they mostly sleep but this young fellow was on a prowl, looking for trouble to get into… just for fun! They really are very cute in an alternative type of way, but don’t let their endearing side fool you. They have the strongest bite of any mammal and those front fangs can rip through the toughest hides. Whilst content to eat a lot of carrion they are not above an outright kill of their own. living in small family groups whilst young but then a more solitary life ( unless food is scarce) as they age into adulthood.
